Today's clue:
Looks angrily as gravity brings down (7)
Solution: GLOWERS = G LOWERS
I realised a little later that the verb "brings down" being transitive makes the clue a bit awkward. What is being brought down? I am personally unhappy with this. But, usually there is some licence for puzzles; is this one such situation where this is tolerated? Experts can give their views.

Comments
Some times an object is not specified for a transitive verb that applies to all objects universally. For example, "Cancer kills". According to a scientist, who had a painful interaction with an apple, action of gravity fits the bill.
