Claude Monet  was a famous painter  from France.
He was one of the pioneers of a new trend.  For a person
used to wearing spectacles,  painting of this style look like we are looking at it without wearing the glasses. They have an unfinished look lacking sharpness and many painters of this school often painted in open air as opposed to painting in a studio.
As  this Impressionist painter died long before our Prime Minister was born
