Yesterday's clue: State of oppressed class struggle with Manu (5,4) Solution: TAMIL NADU = anagram of DALIT and MANU Ramki Krishnan has pointed out usage of indirect anagram: instead of the word DALIT participating in the anagram, a substitute "oppressed class" is what is given in the clue. In udhirivedi I use this violation of convention regularly, but generally avoid in Krypton. But the temptation to refer to Karl Marx's class struggle was too much! It was meant to be PIEC + M + CABLE The extra e in piece is the trouble. I missed an epic chance to form a better, or rather, a faultless, clue.
