Solution to Krypton 261

Attending a function far out of the city meant I could not return home in time to post the answer last night. So I am posting it now.
Yesterday's clue:
Fretful to lift the fretted instrument upwards in palpitation (8)
Its solution: PETULANT = LUTE + PANT
