After writing one clue I thought of writing a (in my opinion) better one. Ended up not erasing the first one.

Solution: HESITATE = HEAT + SIT + E
Heat = intense desire
Second one:
Ring with sound about meat of curry (8)
Solution: SURROUND = sound + urr
urr = meat of curry
ring = surround
