Yesterday's clue seems to have been more difficult than usual as the number of submissions is just 6. Among them ony 3 of them
have given the correct answers. Even there I find, in my opinion, the explanation missing one crucial poit, though the split has been given.

I'd extend the deadline to tonight 10 pm with an additional hint. The clue should be split as "He does not defend" and " War hiding in a stream". (sidestepping the usual decoy of misleading punctuation).
