Solution to Krypton 397 (alternative)

Yesterday's clue Friend is French in initially English west asian region (9)
Solution: PALESTINE = PAL + EST + IN + E PAL= friend
EST = "is" in Frencch
E = initially English

Original clue for 397 had the solution also carelessly left in it. So I deleted it and this new one was made around 7 am. Hope all the regular vistors had a chance to see the alternative. Visit this page to see all the solutions received.
